This is not a tour through an auto salvage yard. These cars were found during hikes in the woods of southeastern Massachusetts and northeastern Rhode Island. Some cars were in clusters at a few locations, but most were remote and alone. The settings varied as much as the cars themselves. Featured here also are the environments the cars were found in – their ‘natural habitat’.
How did these cars end up in the natural landscape? A few were abandoned and forgotten to suffer only the elements. Many though were clearly victims of serious abuse, some battered beyond recognition, some burnt, some even shot. We can speculate how they got there, but their actual stories remain a mystery.
